Winter can cause havoc on our skin, for sure, and the dry air does not help at all to keep any kind of glow. That’s why when it comes to body skin care, it’s always great to focus first on exfoliating the skin to get rid of did skin cells, followed by whatever oil or cream you like to use. For extra dry skin, why not use both?
I know a lot about eczema, and moisture is always going to be your best friend. There are a lot of oils out there, so choosing one just depends on a process of trial and error until you come across what actually works for you.
What I have found to work may not work the same for others, but I have found a way to stop my skin from being so itchy. When showering, if I want to exfoliate my skin, I use Softsoap Exfoliating Body Wash Scrub, or- if I’m just only looking to cleanse my sensitive skin with nothing extra- I use a moisturizer that is good for sensitive and eczema prone skin, like Eucerin eczema body wash. After showering, it’s important to moisturize before you are completely dry, to trap in the moisture. Here, you can use Gold Bond Eczema cream, and/or any body oil of your choice. Whether you use almond oil, coconut oil or bio oil, find one that works for you, and your skin will be feeling better (and less itchy) in no time.
In summary, these are the steps to a body skin care routine:
Exfoliate and/or cleanse the skin
Do not completely dry after shower
Moisturize skin with cream and/or oil
